Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The attacks succeed nights of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
